If you want a midsize SUV that is a confident, five-seater style that reflects connectivity of forward thinking as well as the latest technology in power-train, then the 2012 Ford Edge is just right for you.
The turbocharged four cylinder of Ford’s EcoBoost is added to the line-up of engine of the 2012 Ford Edge in an effort to produce V-6 grade acceleration with an economy that’s better than the V-6 fuel. Only a few changes have been made after the mid-cycle refurbish for the 2011 model to create the 2012 Edge. That refurbishing resulted in a fresh style, retuned engines and an introduction of the improved infotainment operating system, MyFord Touch. A brand new 18”resistance tire that is low-rolling and has an assortment of aerodynamic tweaks which maximizes the mileage of gas is just one of the minor improvements made for the 2012 Ford Edge.
Is it best to buy a 2012 Ford Edge or should I just wait until the 2013 Ford Edge is made? The chances of the 2012 Ford Edge changing much are rather slim and it will more than likely be more expensive if you should buy a 2013 one and you will be one year nearer to the next full crossover redesign which is likely for a 2014 or 2015 model. You have time to enjoy the present style and feature that the 2012 offers by purchasing it before it is outdated.
Minor enhancements were made o the exterior of the 2012 Ford Edge which includes a new liftgate spoiler on the rear and external side mirrors which improved its aerodynamics and its economy of fuel. The overall look of the 2012 Ford Edge was not altered by the changes made. It is still the crossover SUV with a five–seater and a nice visual effect courtesy to the Ford’s trademark daring expression of a three bar grille.
The 2012 Ford Edge is the newly available 2.0 litre version of the four cylinder EcoBoost that Ford offers and was debuted in the 2012 Explore edition. A 240 horsepower and 270 pound feet of torque is generated by an engine that is direct fuel-injected and turbocharged. Though it works in the same fashion as that of the V-6, the fuel economy ratings of the EcoBoost Edge are up to date with crossovers that are smaller and use four cylinder engines with less power.
A remarkable list of functional and fantastic features is maintained by the 2012 Ford Edge and a driver’s seat of 10-way power with power adjustments to the lumbar is a new standard on Limited and SEL models this year. A 10-way power passenger seat was also added by Limited as a 2012 standard.
The price of the 2012 Ford Edge is not far from the 2011 model and has a base range of price from $28,465 to $39, 650. In this review the base prices are inclusive of the destination fee for the manufacturer.
